Osteria Oggi: a pasta bar.

One of Adelaide’s top restaurants has been named one of the 10 top new restaurants in the world in 2016 by CNN and as soon as you step foot inside this beautiful venue, you can tell instantly why.

‘Oggi’ means ‘today’ in Italian – and sums up what they are about. Offering sophisticated Italian food that has been inspired by tradition, Osteria Oggi pride themselves on using age old methods and recipes but give them a modern day revamp. Using only the finest locally sourced seasonal produce and quality ingredients, this Italian piazza comes complete with a cobblestoned floor, arches, arbour, meat room, private cellar, intimate booth seating, and a mezzanine-level kitchen.

Executive chef Andrew Davies and head chef Mimi Rivers deliver an Italian menu that incorporates their own philosophy of shared, nourishing food, utilising techniques that require finesse and of course love.

In keeping with the Oggi philosophy of ‘today’, all pasta and gnocchi is made in-house daily and the menu covers all bases, from appetizers and salumi, through to pasta, wood-smoked slow-roasted meats and fish, re-interpreted desserts and of course, formaggio presented in its very own trolley.

If you can’t decide from all the tempting options, choose the ‘pranzo veloce’ menu which allows for a  3-course shared lunch, or ‘lento’ , a leisurely 4-course lunch or dinner enabling you to sample all the favourites.

As with their food, they offer wine that they enjoy themselves. The extensive list includes a large selection of wines by the glass, selected cellar-ed wines, curios, specially-sourced back vintage barolos and nebbiolos, as well as interesting, fun wines made with a modern style.
