One of Melbourne’s best live music hotspots, Bird’s Basement has been spreading the good vibes since 2016. Even though it is known for its live jazz scene, all sorts of musical acts grace the halls of this basement venue. They host live music Wednesday through to Sunday so you’ll be sure to catch a gig on your off night.
Dinner is available to those who purchase dinner tickets, but it’s worth the extra spend. The menu has a strong Italian influence, with all the pasta and sauces made in-house. Recommendations include the succulent salt and pepper calamari and the hearty lamb ragu, both are sure to fill you up perfectly. Once you’ve filled up your regular stomach, it’s time to get your dessert stomach ready with some delicious Italian sweets. Crepes, tiramisu, gelato and panna cotta await you for your post-show fill.

The highlight of the drinks menu is their house cocktails. Each is named after and inspired by a jazz legend and aims to mirror the traits and qualities of their namesake. Tickets to the venue vary depending on the artist/band that’s performing and the area where you’d like to sit.
