Kick start your winter at Melbourne Public, as they transform into a ski lodge pop-up (Mont Plonk) for a second season.
From the 14th June – 28th of July, This South Wharf bar and dining room are transforming their terrace into a ski lodge pop-up, meaning you can enjoy an authentic après-ski experience slap-bang in the middle of Melbourne.
In partnership with Ugg Australia, there will be ample amounts of fur blankets, sheepskin rugs, and many cosy fire-pits. This urban ski lodge creates the true look and feel of an après-ski bar, despite being over 200km away from any hint of snow-kissed mountain caps.
With a wide selection of warming wintery offerings, skiers can keep warm with mulled wine and hot buttered rum. Mont Plonk will also provide an array of traditional food you’d be craving after a long day on the Alps, with Woombye baked brie and bratwurst with toppings.
Access to this Winter Wonderland is completely free, but if you’re planning on making an appearance you’ll have the opportunity to reserve tables by purchasing a ‘Group Ski Pass’ [click here to book a Group Ski Pass]. This pass includes a reserved table for the night, Woombye baked brie, bratwurst sausages, a choice of a wintery drink and some shots from the shot-skis (which are, quite literally, shot glasses attached to skis).
This event is perfect for those who can’t make it to the slopes this winter, as you’ll feel like your right in the thick of it at Melbourne Public’s urban ski lodge.
This lovingly restored cargo shed is also available for exclusive hire, and boasts a large open-plan bar, an elevated and private Dining Room and a north facing Terrace Deck with a retractable rooftop and overhead heating.
