In classic bootlegging fashion, Love, Tilly Devine isn’t easy to find; it’s a true hidden secret.

Tucked down an alley in Darlinghurst, Love, Tilly Devine is one of Sydney’s original wine bars.

Created by Matt Swieboda more than 10 years ago, the bar quickly evolved into the voice of the natural wine scene in Australia, showcasing the country’s flourishing young, up-and-coming producers. It has stayed true to that vision up until today.

Their food menu showcases small farmers, growers and makers who pride themselves on care for the land and quality produce, allowing them to plate simple yet delicious dishes. Their line-up of snacks, pasta (made by their friends at Fabbrica) and sustainably sourced meat and seafood refresh regularly to accommodate seasonal produce and the creative freedom of their chefs James Elliott and Sujan Jung Karki.

Love, Tilly Devine is an intimate venue, an environment for people to relax, get comfortable and engage with their team in a casual yet knowledgeable format. From time to time, Tilly does like to party with many visiting winemakers and industry professionals having fallen victim to the all-immersive late-night fun that she — and her infamous eponym, Sydney crime boss ‘Tilly Devine’ — is known for. Essentially, Love Tilly is an energetic, low key, good vibes expression of a wine bar where one should never feel intimidated — the music gets louder and the lights get darker.
